Take Instructing to New Heights.
In the Aerobatics & Spinning Training Endorsement course, you will learn how to teach students the fundamentals of performing aerobatic and spinning manoeuvres in our Super Decathlon aircraft. The course focuses on delivering the best practical methods for teaching manoeuvres covered in the Aerobatics & Spinning Endorsement course, coupled with ground training that includes pre and post-flight briefing demonstration and read back.
Under the guidance of expert instructors, you’ll learn how to teach the advanced aircraft control techniques required during aerobatic and spinning manoeuvres. You’ll also learn to be confident in teaching recovery from mishandled manoeuvres in a range of situations. The tandem seating configuration of the Super Decathlon aircraft provides an extra challenge, and learning to instruct from the back seat will greatly improve your own confidence in your ability to teach by communication and feel. To complete this course you must hold a PPL or CPL as well as an Aerobatics & Spinning Endorsement and Flight Instructor Rating.
To complete this course you will need to hold a current PPL or CPL, plus a Flight Instructor Rating, plus the Aerobatics & Spinning Endorsement. Your orientation will include an introduction to the airport, airspace, aircraft fleet, LTF processes and policies, and our facilities.
The ground school component of this course includes aerobatics and spinning theory with an emphasis on teaching pre-flight / long brief read back and demonstration of the Aerobatics and Spinning Endorsement course content.
The practical flight training includes a demonstration of a range of aerobatic and spinning manoeuvres with emphasis on instruction and read-back techniques, based on the content of the Aerobatics and Spinning Endorsement course.
During the flight test with a registered CASA testing officer, you will demonstrate your aerobatic and spinning knowledge, and your skills in effectively teaching the Aerobatics and Spinning Endorsement course syllabus.
