Take Instructing to New Heights.
Are you an instructor looking to build your instrument hours? The Instrument Rating Training Endorsement is designed to give you the knowledge, skills and teaching capability to conduct flight training for the issue of an Instrument Rating training approval. Adding Instrument Rating (IFR) training approval to your abilities will allow you to substantially build your IFR experience whilst instructing. The course follows the CASA syllabus and includes both simulator and practical flight training
Learn To Fly offers both single and multi-engine course options with a range of aircraft to choose from including the Diamond DA40, Cessna 172, Diamond DA42 and Piper Seminole. Simulation training is conducted in our state-of-the-art TRC 472 (Cessna 172) or Alsim AL42 (Diamond DA42) synthetic trainers. To be eligible to complete an Instrument Rating Training Endorsement, you must hold a Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL), Flight Instructor Rating (FIR), and an Instrument Rating. If you don’t yet hold a Flight Instructor Rating, chat to one of our flight training specialists about completing the course with us.
To commence the Instrument Rating Training Endorsement, you need to hold a current CPL and Instrument Rating. If you do not already hold a Flight Instructor Rating (FIR), you will need to choose the basic FIR package option. Your orientation will include an introduction to the airport, airspace, aircraft fleet, LTF processes and policies, and our facilities.
The theory syllabus includes NDB, VOR, DME, GNSS, DGA, RNAV and ILS (as required) as well as associated theory, navigation and planning. The ground school also incorporates long brief demonstrations and read back.
Simulator training includes 5.5 hours of dual practical instruction in LTF’s Alsim AL42 full cockpit simulator. Practical flight training includes 5.5 hours of dual instruction in an aircraft, covering the concepts learnt during the ground theory and simulator training course components.
The Instrument Rating Training Endorsement flight test is a 2-hour flight demonstrating all aspects of the course training syllabus.
